Rome Odunze is about to become an NFL wide receiver soon, and he said that he doesn’t mind where he’ll land, even if it is with the Chicago Bears.
Coming into the year, Rome Odunze was thought to be a late first-round pick, but his stock has improved to the point that he is now expected to be selected within the Top 15. Some NFL mock drafts have the Washington wide receiver inside the Top 10, where the Chicago Bears might get him with the ninth overall pick.
And with the Chicago Bears tipped to take Caleb Williams with their top pick, their offense is going to be a must-watch ahead of the 2024 season.
Rome Odunze shares his thoughts on potentially joining the Chicago Bears
Josh Schrock of NBC Sports Chicago recently spoke with Rome Odunze about the Chicago Bears in the Super Bowl Radio Row. During the interview, Odunze shared who he modeled his game after when he was growing up.
“I was a big fan of Devin Hester growing up. He was my favorite player. I love it. Chicago is an amazing city,” said Odunze.
Furthermore, when asked about his potential fit with the current team, Odunze spoke highly of Justin Fields, whom he might get to work with soon if he goes to Chicago this offseason.
“I think they have a great quarterback in Justin Fields. I think he’s a baller,” said Odunze. “He can play with his feet, and then he can make a play with his feet and get the ball in the air. To be so versatile in a league that has such great pass rushers, I think he’s got a unique skill set.”
Rome Odunze also raved about Caleb Williams, whom he faced a couple of times this season.
“He’s a special player. His arm talent is pretty crazy. He can deliver it inside the pocket. I even saw it firsthand—his ability to get outside the pocket and make people miss and make plays. His awareness to be able to look downfield and be able to make some of the throws he makes is incredible to watch,” said Odunze.
No matter who the Chicago Bears quarterback is in 2024, Rome Odunze should fit right in as another weapon alongside DJ Moore.
