Andy Reid gave an injury update Wednesday
Andy Reid met with reporters before Wednesday’s practice and offered, at best, a confusing injury update on starting quarterback Patrick Mahomes. The Kanas City Chiefs are practicing this week for their upcoming home game for the AFC Championship against the Cincinnati Bengals.
The Chiefs hoped to have Mahomes back at practice this week after he sustained a high-ankle sprain in the win over the Jacksonville Jaguars Saturday. Mahomes and Reid said earlier this week that Mahomes would play in the AFC Championship game, but his preparation for the contest was still undecided Monday.
According to James Palmer with the NFL Network, Reid said on Wednesday there were “no injuries to report. Everybody is going to practice today.” That included Mahomes, and it could include wide receiver, Mecole Hardman. However, Reid added that he wasn’t sure if Mahomes would do everything at practice.

Reid’s statement is a little unclear. While Mahomes might be at practice, he could be limited at practice. If that is the case, we’ll see Mahomes’ name pop up on the Chiefs’ injury report later this afternoon–even if Reid doesn’t want to report that news Wednesday morning.
