Kansas City Chiefs rule out key offensive player
The Kansas City Chiefs hoped to get an offensive starter back for the playoffs. The Chiefs, who earned the number one overall AFC seed in the playoffs, benefited from having a bye week in the Wild Card round. The Chiefs’ injury report released Tuesday didn’t offer good news for starting wide receiver Mecole Hardman.
According to Adam Schefter with ESPN, Hardman has been ruled out for Saturday’s contest against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Reports came out earlier in the week that Hardman, who has been battling a pelvis injury, did not practice Tuesday. He tried to “push” his recovery, but his body was not responding well to the activity.
The Chiefs appeared to hedge their bets at wide receiver earlier this week. The Chiefs cut defensive tackle Daniel Wise from the practice squad in order to bring on wide receiver Jerrion Ealy. It remains to be seen if Ealy will be elevated for the Chiefs on Saturday.
