Many Pittsburgh Steelers fans were not well on Tuesday night when they saw their starting wide receiver Diontae Johnson traded to the Carolina Panthers. The Steelers received cornerback Donte Jackson, and there was a pick swap of Day three picks.
Does The Johnson Move Mean Another Big Move Is Coming?
Steeler fans took to social media and needed clarification about why Johnson was traded. Some were okay with Johnson’s trade since sometimes he lacked the effort to block and make plays for the team, but fans want to know what is next.
The Steelers don’t have great receiving options, and George Pickens is the only threat they have from that position on the roster, so fans wonder if the trade means a big-time move for another receiver is coming.
Steelers fans can worry about trading away Diontae. But we all watched that guy look at a fumble last year and pout. Made no effort to pick it up. We’ve heard more than one story that he was a shithead in the locker room too. Can’t win with that. Cut the cancers. I’m all for it.

Pittsburgh Steelers Added Russell Wilson
Pittsburgh just signed quarterback Russell Wilson, who will compete with Kenny Pickett to start this year. Whoever wins that job will need some more weapons to throw.
Wilson hasn’t been great in his last two years, so Denver let him go this offseason. Trading away a receiver that would help the struggling quarterback only makes sense if something else is coming.
The Steelers currently own the 20th pick in the NFL Draft, and the receiver has to be in play now. This is an intense wide receiver class, and Pittsburgh might be finding their new weapon with that pick.
The Steelers added Donte Jackson, a solid quarterback, to their roster. He will join Joey Porter Jr., a stud in his rookie season.
Baltimore Ravens linebacker Patrick Queen also agreed to a deal with the Steelers on Tuesday, so it’s evident they are building up the defense in the Steel City.
Now, fans will have to wait and see what Pittsburgh will do at the receiver spot and if they will make a big splash.
