The Philadelphia Eagles signed seven undrafted free agents. The seven who will have a chance to make the roster in training camp are offensive tackle Gottlieb Ayedze from Maryland, tight end McCallan Castles from Tennessee, offensive tackle Anim Dankwah, defensive tackle Gabe Hall from Baylor, running back Kendall Hilton from Georgia, safety Andre’ Sam from LSU, and offensive tackle Laekin Vakalahi on an international player exemption.
It will be interesting to see which one of these players can crack the roster or if the Philadelphia Eagles will not take any of them on the 53-man roster this season. The Philadelphia Eagles will need help on the defensive line with the retirement of Fletcher Cox on the interior.
Gabe Hall On the Philadelphia Eagles Is the Unsigned Free Agent To Watch During NFL Training Camp
Nick Baumgardner and Scott Dochterman of The Athletic wrote an article about one undrafted free agent on each NFL team to keep an eye on during the 2024 NFL training camp on who can make the roster. They both mentioned that the player to watch for during training camp is defensive tackle Gabe Hall from Baylor.
Some of the reasoning they gave as to why they chose him was as follows:
“However, the nod here goes to Hall, a versatile 6-6, 291-pounder with 34 1/2-inch arms and an 84-inch wingspan. He was mostly an interior player in college, but his frame allowed him to move around a lot. Brugler had a fourth-round grade on Hall, who could be a rangy five-tech capable of playing either interior spot.”
Last season with the Baylor Bears, he played in 12 games and recorded 17 total tackles and 3.5 tackles were for a loss. Hall also recorded two sacks and had one pass deflection. He is 6’6″ and weighs 287 lbs.
Some of the positives on his scouting report according to nfldraftbuzz.com are as follows:
“His spin move is already NFL-caliber, and he displays a very good motor. Exceptional size and frame, well-suited for the defensive line with significant arm reach and no excess weight.”
Some of his negatives are as follows:
“Lacks the desired level of explosiveness and speed which limits his effectiveness as a pass rusher. Stiffness in lower body and high pad level can make him less effective against agile offensive linemen.”
It will be interesting to see how the Philadelphia Eagles will be able to develop Gabe Hall during training camp. We’ll see who else can emerge.
