Philadelphia Eagles edge rusher Haason Reddick had a career year in 2022. He racked up 16 sacks in the regular season while adding another 3.5 in the playoffs. While he has bounced around the league, his production has stayed steady. In a recent interview, he talked about being underpaid despite his production.
Philadelphia Eagles Haason Reddick Believes He Is Underpaid
After talking about how he is letting his play speak for itself, Reddick was asked whether he believes he is underpaid.
“I mean,” Reddick said with a laugh, “I ain’t gonna sit here and … like I said, y’all see it, y’all know what’s going on. I’m just worried about being the best version of myself. And I’ll let everything else sort itself out, truly.”
He doesn’t seem too concerned about it but he recognizes that this contract is not matching his production. He has two years left on his deal and is currently the 15th-highest salary by average per year. TJ Watt, the top-paid player, makes nearly double what Reddick does.
Premium Position
The good news for Reddick is edge rushers get paid. Unlike what the running backs are going through right now, edge rushers tend to get the bag. If Reddick can continue to produce the way he has, it will be easy to justify a big payday. The only roadblock Reddick could run into is the Eagles have a lot of people they need to pay. The defensive line especially is full of studs and at some point, they have to pick and choose who to pay. If that happens, someone will pay him so regardless, he will be paid.
The Philadelphia Eagles are hoping for a similar season out of Haason Reddick. They are hoping to be able to make it back to the Super Bowl and this time take home the trophy.
