The Ohio State program could use a little bit of good news right now. They have seen a lot of players, especially on offense, leave for the transfer portal. One Buckeyes fan site is claiming that one key piece of the offense will return in 2024. Star running back TreVeyon Henderson is reportedly coming back to Columbus in 2024.

Ohio State RB TreVeyon Henderson Returning In 2024?
The Silver Bulletin is reporting that Henderson will return and that the story will break soon. If true, this would be a massive boost to the program. He has 37 total touchdowns in his career with the Buckeyes. Last season he averaged a whopping 6.2 yards per carry. He was a huge part of the Buckeyes offense and most likely would be even more of a focal point if he returned.
Why Would He Return?
In the past, players headed to the NFL at the first chance they got because it was the only way to get paid. With NIL, college players now are making money before they turn pro. In some cases, they can even make more. Henderson’s NIL value is somewhere in the $770,000 range. Rookie NFL running back Kyren Williams, a fifth-round pick, has a base salary of $705,000. While Henderson is projected before the fifth round, it still shows how staying in college might be the best move for certain athletes.
Will TreVeyon Henderson return to Ohio State? The fact that he hasn’t declared means that he may be mulling over a return. This will be a storyline to watch for the Buckeyes as they head into 2024.
