The Ohio State Buckeyes offense is going to look completely different next year. Whether it is players leaving for the NFL Draft or players leaving for the transfer portal, it seems every position will feature a new person in the role. The Buckeyes lost another weapon on Wednesday. Linebacker turned running back Chip Trayamun has decided to enter the transfer portal.

Ohio State RB Chip Trayanum Enters Transfer Portal
Trayanum started his career as a linebacker before moving to running back. While he was by no means the top back for the Buckeyes, he did put up solid stats in 2023. He carried the ball 85 times for 373 yards and three touchdowns. This is yet another offensive weapon to decide to leave Columbus. With everyone leaving, there are starting to become more questions about Ryan Day and his staff.
Why Are Players Leaving?
It could be a simple answer. The players could be looking for NIL opportunities or just simply want a change and the transfer portal allows that. However, as more players decide to leave, the questions about what is happening in the program will continue. Head coach Ryan Day has made it clear that he and his staff are going to fix some things around the program to get back to the standard they have set. He is no doubt heavily recruiting the portal and the Buckeyes will likely still put a good product out on the field in 2024.
Day better hope he can reload. The Big Ten expands bringing in many quality teams. It will be harder to win the conference but Day has proven that he can get his team in the mix. Can he get them over the hump and into the College Football Playoff in 2024?
