Las Vegas Raiders Robert Spillane: Man Possessed on Sunday
Las Vegas Raiders linebacker Robert Spillane shined in his team’s win on Sunday Night Football, earning AFC Defensive Player of the Week honors. The six-year NFL vet posted seven tackles, one TFL, a sack, and an interception in a 16-12 win over the New York Jets. Despite being just ten games through the 2023 season, Spillane has already posted career-highs in sacks, tackles, and interceptions.
Indianapolis Colts pass rusher Dayo Odeyingbo was likely Spillane’s most significant competition for DPOTW in the AFC. The 24-year-old tallied four tackles, three TFLS, three QB hits, and three sacks in the Colts’ narrow 10-6 win over the New England Patriots in Frankfurt, Germany.
San Francisco 49ers DE Nick Bosa: Wins first Defensive Player of the Week Award this Season
Nick Bosa, the DPOTW in the NFC for Week 10, dominated the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. The three-time Pro-Bowler had three tackles, 1.5 sacks, a pass deflected, a fumble forced, and a fumble recovery in San Francisco’s 34-3 blowout win over Jacksonville. Bosa spearheads one of the best defenses in the NFL.
Meanwhile, Arizona Cardinals rookie BJ Ojulari posted a career day on Sunday. The LSU product posted his first multi-sack game, finishing Week 10 with two sacks and eight tackles. The Cardinals picked up their second win of the season, beating the Atlanta Falcons 25-23.
