There have been many rumors of former quarterbacks asmwanting to make a return to the NFL. Players like Tom Brady and Colin Kaepernick have been in several rumors of a potential return, especially with all of the current star quarterbacks going down with season-ending injuries. Now, a former NFL MVP quarterback is making headlines after he stated that he would like to make a return.

Cam Newton Rumors
Former Carolina Panthers and New England Patriots quarterback Cam Newton has expressed his interest in returning to the league. Newton has not received a call from any teams over the last couple of years, but he continues to say that he is available if any teams want him. Two potential teams that can consider him would be the Cleveland Browns and the Cincinnati Bengals since both teams have had their star quarterbacks go down with season-ending injuries.
The former MVP could be a good choice for both of these teams, but neither has attempted to make a move for him yet. The Browns recently signed Super Bowl MVP Joe Flacco to the team, so it is unlikely they would look in Newton’s direction. However, the Bengals said that they will move forward with quarterback Jake Browning, who has been the successor to Joe Burrow. If Browning does not perform well, the team could very well consider giving Cam a call.
Cam Newton NFL MVP
Newton had an up-and-down career in the NFL, but he was pretty decent overall. He amounted to 32,382 passing yards and 194 touchdowns in his 11-year career. He was able to achieve the MVP award in 2015 and brought his team to the Super Bowl, which they lost to Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos 24-10. After suffering the brutal defeat, Newton could never get back to the level of play he was having that year.
Although it is unlikely for a team to sign the former quarterback sometime this season, it is an intriguing thought, to say the least. If Newton can still prove that he still has some gas left in the tank, there can be a few teams that could give him a call and give him a shot, with Cincinnati being the most likely for now. We will see how the replacement quarterbacks do this week, and if these rumors involving Newton start to heat up.
