Former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick has been in a lot of rumors during the 2023 season regarding a potential comeback to the league. It all started when he decided to write a letter to the New York Jets asking to join their practice squad. It seems his name gets brought up every time a team’s quarterback goes down with a significant injury, the most recent being Cincinnati Bengals star Joe Burrow. NFL fans are frustrated with this rumor and saying that the team should just sign a better quarterback if they were to consider Kaepernick as a potential option.

Unless it's AJ Green saying it, nobody else's opinion in that locker room matters. (On offense)

Those players should be cut from the team

Desperate times? If that is the case play AJ. Get out of her with mr irrelevant.

Come on! Everyone knows Andy Dalton is much better at not drawing awareness to important and urgent social problems.

NFL Fans Are Frustrated
Fans did not take these rumors lightly, as they took social media to express their frustrations of the Bengals being potentially interested in signing Kaepernick. Many are saying that if they plan to get a veteran quarterback, there are many better options on the market. Although these are just rumors, it is a possibility that the former quarterback could be looked at if Burrow’s successor Jake Browning does not perform well.
Kaepernick was looking for a way back into the league for a while, and it seems that his eagerness to try and return is slowly fading. After his failed attempt to sign with the Jets, Kaepernick was exploring options in other professional football leagues. He met with XFL owner Dwayne Johnson to discuss a potential job, but Kaepernick ultimately turned down the offer because it did not give him enough money. He was then on the list of potential players for the CFL, but it looks like he will not take that offer either.
Some Fans Want Colin Kaepernick To Sign With Their Team
On the other side, some fans are saying that some teams should start looking more into him as they think that he still has what it takes to play in the league. Many fans from the Cleveland Browns and the New York Giants were calling for their teams to sign the former quarterback, but it does not look like it will happen.
For now, it looks like no NFL teams are interested in singing Kaepernick or at least giving him a shot. However, if one of these teams begins to struggle and potentially miss the postseason, they could give Kaepernick a consideration.
