The NFL coaching carousel came and went with legendary coach Bill Belichick not getting any of the job openings. For the past couple weeks the original Apple TV documentary the Dynasty has been airing, and now we know that Belichick refused to make any comments in the documentary on the ‘spy gate’ controversy.
NFL Legend Bill Belichick’s Worst Moment- Spy Gate
Bill Belichick is known as one of if not the greatest head coach ever in the NFL, but his only dark moment was the Spy Gate scandal where the Patriots were caught filming teams practices back in 2007. Belichick did not want to comment at all about the incident even though it has been over a decade since the scandal.
“Yeah, again, that’s all in the past,” Belichick said. “I’ve made my comments on that. I don’t have anything to add.”
They were caught filming the Jets practices and getting their signals in week 1 of the 2007 season. The team was fined $250,000 and stripped of a first round pick while Belichick personally was fined $500,000.
Bill Belichick Wants To Change Persona He Has in The NFL
It has been reported that Belichick wants to change the persona he has in the NFL. He may even be trying to do TV this upcoming season and then try to go back to the league next years off season. Belichick has always given a grumpy persona in the media and a guy who doesn’t seem to have comedy in his life. But according to people around him and players that have played for him, his real personality is far from that.
Belichick on TV would be great content as few people in the world know the sport and the history of the NFL the way that he does. When he was on the NFL all time team program, going through the top players to ever play the game, it was evident that his knowledge of the game far supersedes that of many analysts on TV. Now that Belichick won’t be coaching, it would be amazing for fans to get his insights into the game on a weekly or even daily basis.
