The Las Vegas Raiders are looking to be sellers at this year’s NFL trade deadline. One of their first moves could be shipping off one of their many disgruntled wide receivers. 2021 Pro Bowl wideout and former 1,000-yard receiver Hunter Renfrow, who has grown frustrated with the Raiders’ brass, is working with the franchise to mutually part ways and could get dealt before the end of the month, per Jordan Schultz.

Las Vegas Raiders and Hunter Renfrow Working Together to Find a Trade Partner
“I can tell you that both sides want to find a healthy separation. It’s a mutual agreement that a change of scenery for Renfrow would benefit everyone involved. It really comes down to a fractured relationship with Josh McDaniels,” said Schultz on Wednesday. Renfrow has just eight catches for 73 yards this season, posting career lows in receptions and yards per game by a large margin. He also barely topped 300 receiving yards last season, his first under head coach Josh McDaniels, while being fresh off a 1,000-yard season.
Schultz continued, saying, “Unfortunately, they haven’t been able to find a suitor in large part because of his contract.” Renfrow signed a two-year, $32 million contract extension with the Raiders in 2022.
Hunter Renfrow: NFL Career
Hunter Renfrow, a former standout and two-time national champion with the Clemson Tigers, has had a solid NFL career that started with a 49-reception, 605-yard rookie campaign in 2019. He posted 56 receptions, 656 yards, and two touchdowns in 2020 before posting a career-best ten receptions and 1,038 yards as a Pro-Bowler in 2021. However, his production and snap count has cratered in the past two seasons, his first two with Josh McDaniels as the head coach.
Las Vegas Raiders: Wide Receiver Frustration Mounting
Hunter Renfrow is not the only wide receiver on the Las Vegas Raiders demoralized with Josh McDaniels. Fellow wideout and superstar Davante Adams made headlines last week for voicing his frustration over his role in the offense. Adams took insult to his lack of involvement with Las Vegas, posting some of his worst numbers since 2016.
