The Kansas City Chiefs are one of the most popular franchises in all of professional sports, not just the NFL. Winning three Super Bowls in just five seasons does a great deal to help make an organization more noteworthy to casual sports fans. However, they also have become one of the league’s most-watched teams because of another reason that has really nothing to do with football.

Of course, this reason is the relationship between All-Pro tight end Travis Kelce and 14-time Grammy Award winner Taylor Swift. When the couple made the fact that they are dating public in September of 2023, it created quite the stir on social media.

There were some fans who were upset that the popstar was shown on broadcasts for a few seconds during three-hour games while others were excited that Swift’s presence influenced their daughters and other loved ones to watch games with them.

Despite what detractors may say or believe, the positive impact that Swift has had on the NFL and viewership cannot be denied. Last year’s AFC Championship Game between the Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens had 55 million viewers, a record for any conference championship game in NFL history.

With more viewers, of course, comes more money. Financial experts estimate that Swift’s presence at Chiefs games helped generate $330 million more revenue than the NFL would have made otherwise.

Kansas City’s team success and Swift’s international fame have made the couple one of the most followed topics on social media and in gossip columns. Unfortunately, this notoriety also comes with false claims and bogus stories from so-called fans.

A Recent Fake Document Claimed Kansas City Chiefs Tight End Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s Relationship Was a Stunt

Last week, a document surfaced on Reddit that claimed that Kelce and Swift and agreed to a fake relationship in order to boost their individual popularity. What is more, it also claimed that the pair was planning to “break up” later this month.

“The announcement would allegedly be ‘gracious, respectful, and stress mutual respect,’” the document said.

Of course, there were obvious signs that it was fake, and Kelce’s public relations representatives have engaged with legal counsel in an attempt to find out who made the false contract and then posted it online.

While Swift has apparently laughed off the story, Kelce is pretty upset.

According to a report by PopCulture, “‘[Kelce] got upset and p—ed about that fake contract.’ The source added that Swift, too, was left feeling angered by this latest attempt to generate controversy around their relationship.”

That being said, a different source in the same report said, “Taylor was unbothered and quite amused by this. It was some hilarious AI realness. It isn’t even worth an actual reaction from her or her team.”

Despite the report, Swift was present at the Chiefs season opener, again against the Ravens, and was seen in a suite with Kelce’s parents. They also left the stadium together and were seen out together in Brooklyn, New York the day after the game.
