It’s safe to say Seattle Seahawks quarterback Drew Lock earned himself a new fan in Green Bay Packers offensive tackle David Bakhtiari.
Lock made waves on Monday after he engineered the Seahawks’ come-from-behind victory against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 15.
With Geno Smith dealing with a groin injury and the Hawks’ relying on Lock to lead the way, many expected Jalen Hurts and Co. to cruise to an easy victory. But easy is far from what Philly actually got, with the former Denver Broncos signal-caller playing a steady game as he kept the Seahawks in the fight.
With the Seahawks trailing 17-13 with 33 seconds left, Lock capped off his 10-play, 92-yard drive with a 29-yard touchdown pass to Jaxon Smith-Njigba to complete the comeback and give Seattle the 20-17 victory.

Of course Lock was extra hyped with the win. He hasn’t seen plenty of playing time this 2023 season, with the Monday Night Football game actually being only his second start to the season.
Lock never lost his confidence and stayed patient while waiting for his opportunity, and it paid off big time.
After witnessing such display from Drew Lock, David Bakhtiari was happy for his fellow NFL player. The Green Bay Packers star even heaped praise on the quarterback’s swagger, all while advising him to never change.
“Good for you Drew Lock. Never lose your confidence or swagger. Just be you,” Bakhtiari wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
Lock certainly deserves all the recognition he’s getting. He worked hard for it. Hopefully, though, he’ll get more opportunity moving forward after showing what he can do.
David Bakhtiari’s Green Bay Packers Future
While it’s certainly nice to see Drew Lock find success once again after being forgotten, hopes are high that the same can be said for David Bakhtiari when he returns to the Green Bay Packers … or in any other team for that matter.
Bakhtiari has struggled to stay healthy over the last three seasons. And after his season-ending knee injury that needed surgery after Week 1 this 2023, there have been plenty of concerns about his future with the Packers and the NFL.
By the looks of it, the Packers will benefit more by moving on and cutting him since they can save about $21 million on cap space by releasing him in the offseason. But if he’s healthy, there’s no doubt that Bakhtiari can still help any team–even a contender.
The big question for Bakhtiari now is if he can recapture his old form after so many surgeries.
