Four Bears you should keep an eye tonight in Seattle. It’s dress rehearsal number two. After tonight we will know just a tad more on how the 2022 Bears are going to look. You should be keeping an eye on everyone, but these four in particular, and I will tell you why.
Braxton Jones
We heard good things about Jones all the way up until training camp. Many had him penciled in as a starter including me. Then the Bears signed Riley Reiff and the Braxton Jones talk faded. Well Braxton Jones hasn’t faded. He’s had a great camp so far and played well against he Chiefs. With the line seemingly in shambles he has a real chance at being your starting left tackle. Make it a point to watch him in pass protection tonight. He’s been the best lineman in camp thus far.
Trestan Ebnar
Ebnar was as good as advertised against the Chiefs. Breaking off a big run, doing well in the return game, and catching a touchdown pass. Honestly with what he can do at his size, I have no idea how he was around for the Bears to draft in the sixth round. If he continues to play well this will be David Montgomery’s final season as a Bear.
Jack Sanborn
Last week’s hero, he’s looking to build upon his great game. I’m not saying last week was luck, but I definitely need to see a lot more before I order my Sanborn jersey. With Roquan Smith having one foot out the door Sanborn may see this as an opportunity to grab a starting linebacker spot. After watching the replay of last week’s game he reminded me a lot of former Bear Nick Kwiatkoski. Nick was a real good linebacker for the Bears. If Sanborn can be that I would be thrilled.
Dazz Newsome
With all the injuries lingering on the roster, no position is feeling it more then wide receiver. Desperately needing someone to step up Dazz Newsome is the most likely candidate. He also played well against the Chiefs and can hopefully build upon it. He strikes me as a guy where confidence is key for him. The Bears definitely have a lot of young talent. If a handful of them can click and meet their maximum potential, the Bears will be a forced to reckoned with sooner then later. Just remember this is only preseason. Don’t get to high or too low on anyone over tonights game. Bear down 🐻
