Ohio State saw a few players hit the transfer portal this offseason, one of which was tight end Sam Hart. Hart hit the transfer portal on January 16th, and on Friday, he finally announced where he would be playing college football in 2024.
Ohio State’s Sam Hart Is Heading To Colorado
Hart has decided to return home and play for the Colorado head coach, Deion Sanders. Hart is from Aurora, Colorado, and was a three-star recruit in the 2021 class.

He was recruited by Ohio State’s running back coach Tony Alford, who just left for Michigan this week, and former offensive coordinator Kevin Wilson, now Tulsa’s head coach.
Hart Was In A Stacked Tight End Room
Hart saw little playing time at Ohio State and redshirted in his first season in 2021. He could have two more years of eligibility at Colorado since 2022 was technically his first season in college football.
Ohio State’s tight end depth chart was pretty loaded in 2023 with Cade Stover, who will likely be a day-two pick in this year’s NFL Draft, Gee Scott Jr, and Jelani Thurman.
Hart was never going to see the field at Ohio State, so it’s nice to see him go home and play for one of the most up-and-coming schools in the country.
Colorado Is Heading To The Big 12 Next Season
Colorado has been in the college football spotlight since Sanders arrived in December 2022, and he has turned it into a must-watch team every weekend.
Colorado will be entering the Big 12 this season after the collapse of the PAC-12, so they will be testing out a new conference they used to play in before they left for the PAC-12. However, it will be very different without Oklahoma and Texas, who will be heading to the SEC.
