The Los Angeles Rams’ month break is finally over. The Rams completed mandatory minicamp on Wednesday, June 12, six weeks ago. Rookies and veterans reported for training camp on Tuesday, and practice starts Wednesday, while Thursday marks the first day open to fans.
Many fans were waiting for the availability of their offensive weapon, who suffered an injury in their last game.
The Los Angeles Rams tight end is recovering from a significant knee injury
Tyler Higbee exited the fourth quarter with a knee injury in their 23-24 Super Wild Card loss to the Detroit Lions. He had an MRI that confirmed he tore his ACL and MCL. He underwent surgery in the offseason and faces a long recovery.
Higbee has missed offseason workouts, including OTAs and mandatory minicamp. He isn’t quite ready.
The Los Angeles Rams placed Tyler Higbee on the PUP list
According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Rams placed Higbee on the active/PUP list. He will count against the 90-man roster and isn’t allowed to practice. If he does practice, they must activate him to the active roster. He will miss the first four games of 2024 if he’s on the reserve/PUP list while roster cuts are being made.
We will update you once we have more information. We will keep you posted.

Two players will compete for the de-facto starting TE/TE2 job while Higbee’s out.
Player #1
The first player competing is Davis Allen. Allen, a fifth-round pick from 2023, enters his second season after being limited to 11 targets and 192 snaps as a rookie. So far, he has impressed Sean McVay during OTAs and mandatory minicamp.
Many Rams reporters believe he will eventually take over as their TE1 and become a star.
Player #2
The second player competing is Colby Parkinson. Parkinson, a former Seahawk who primarily plays Y-tight end, has recorded over 600 yards and four touchdowns in his first four seasons. He signed with the Rams during the offseason.
Parkinson will get plenty of opportunities to start in the absence of Higbee.
