Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams has all the makings of a star, along with the pedigree of someone who should succeed at the highest levels of the sport. In college, he was already garnering comparisons to active legends like Aaron Rodgers and Patrick Mahomes. But one has to remember that the kid will only be 22 when he plays his first series in the NFL. There’s a lot of learning that needs to be done. Williams, however, is doing all the right things and saying all the right things as he learns the ropes. Caleb Williams, Saying All The Right…

The Chicago Bears have been going at it– among themselves these last few days. That could either be a good thing or a harbinger of bad things to come. On Thursday, defensive end Montez Sweat apologized to quarterback Caleb Williams for stripping the ball from him during the 11-on-11 period, making contact with the rookie in a drill where contact was not allowed. Despite his apology, Sweat would again make contact with Williams on Saturday, during a two-minute drill. The violation led to head coach Matt Eberflus ejecting Sweat from the practice field. Montez Sweat Kicked Out “No. [Sweat] knows…

The Chicago Bears rebuilt their offense this offseason. They used their overall no. 1 draft pick to bring aboard blue chip USC quarterback prospect Caleb Williams and they used their second first-round pick (no. 9) to select wide recover Rome Odunze. The team also brought in veteran wide receiver Keenan Allen via trade with the Los Angeles Chargers and running back D’Andre Swift via free agency. Before all of that, though, Chicago brought in an entirely new offensive coaching staff, to be led by new offensive coordinator Shane Waldron from the Seattle Seahawks. Many see Waldron as the key to…

Steve Michael, Chicago Bears legend, AKA “Mongo,” is fighting hard to make it to his August 3 Pro Football Hall of Fame enshrinement, as he battles late-stage ALS. The sober reality set in long ago that the defensive tackle would eventually lose his battle with the terminal neurodegenerative disease. But his induction into the Hall of Fame brought added urgency to the fight to extend his life. “We had a do not resuscitate, but when I knew he was getting in, I ripped it up and I told him, ‘You’re sticking it out, babe. Until you get in, sorry, you’re…

The Chicago Bears have spent a lot of time and energy (and money) building up their offense, to the point where it’s a completely reconstructed entity– complete with a new coaching staff. The addition of blue chip quarterback Caleb Williams, top prospect wide receiver Rome Odunze, as well as veteran wide receiver Keenan Allen and running back D’Andre Swift have given the team a whole new look on offense. As for defense, though? Not a lot has been done. Admittedly, not much was needed on a defense that started the year slow, but played as a Top 10 unit by…

The Chicago Bears have finished last place in the NFC North two years in a row. At times, their play has ranged from frustratingly “off” to laughably pathetic. That’s a harsh truth. So, nobody should be too surprised that Chicago Bears fans are a little shell shocked when it comes to believing in their favorite team. But the Bears are in a transition period where lots of good things are happening and there’s plenty of reason for optimism. From the drafting of quarterback Caleb Williams and wide receiver Rome Odunze to the addition of veteran stars such as wide receiver…

The Chicago Bears were a changed team when they brought defensive end Montez Sweat aboard at the trade deadline last year. Coming from the Washington Commanders to a Bears team that was struggling to do anything defensively, the five-year veteran became an immediate impact player and helped turn the team into a Top 10 defensive unit for the remainder of the season. Sweat would earn his first Pro Bowl recognition in 2023, leading both the Bears and Commanders in sacks. The four-year, $98 million extension signed upon joining the Bears proved to be money well spent for a player who…

The Chicago Bears went a long way in trying to improve their offense ahead of this coming season. The first-pick drafting of USC star quarterback and blue chip prospect Caleb Williams is expected to have a potential franchise-altering impact in Chicago. The addition of veteran wide receiver Keenan Allen via trade with the Los Angeles Chargers and Washington standout wide receiver Rome Odunze via their other first-round pick (no. 9 overall) will add elite-level talent to their pass-catching corps. Chicago Bear Doubts at Running Back Among some analysts, though, there is legit doubt when it comes to the running back…

The Chicago Bears have revamped their entire offense. Actually, they rebuilt it. With the team targeting (and getting) blue chip quarterback prospect Caleb Williams via their no. 1 draft pick this year (and no. 1 pick overall), Chicago’s aim was to plug the potential star into an offense already likely to succeed. That required a change of almost the entire offensive coaching staff and the addition of new offensive coordinator Shane Waldron. It also required a beefing up of the pass-catching corps and some added heft at running back. Bringing aboard Keenan Allen via trade with the Los Angeles Chargers…

The Chicago Bears are coming into this season with a lot of new toys and plenty of reasons to believe that this season’s team will be vastly improved over the last. Blue chip quarterback Caleb Williams is a Bear now, drafted with the team’s overall no. 1 spot in April’s NFL draft. Williams is thought to be an elite-level prospect with the ability to become a legend in the league. The Bears also drafted highly-regarded wide receiver Rome Odunze with their other first-round draft pick (no. 9 overall). Aside from the first-round duo of Williams and Odunze, the team also…
