Cincinnati Bengals Quarterback Joe Burrow Goes Viral for New Hair Style on 1st Day of Training Camp

The Cincinnati Bengals players reported for their first day of training camp on Tuesday. The team is coming off of a disappointing 9-8 record and a fourth-place finish in the AFC North. Star quarterback Joe Burrow suffered a terrible wrist injury and was limited to just 10 games in 2023. He finished the season with a 66.8% completion percentage, 2,309 passing yards, 15 touchdowns, and six interceptions.

Burrow’s rehab from the surgery he needed to repair torn ligaments in his wrist was a long one, extending into the offseason. There was some concern that the Pro Bowl quarterback would not be fully healthy and ready to go by the time training camp came around.

Fortunately, Bengals coaches confirmed that Burrow is ready for camp and has been cleared for full contact. That announcement made his arrival at training camp all the more anticipated, but no one was prepared for how he looked when he showed up.

When Burrow arrived for training camp, he was sporting a new buzzed and bleached blond hair style:

According to Ben Baby who covers the Bengals for ESPN, this is not the first time that he has sported this look. Baby reports that the highest-paid quarterback in the NFL had a similar hairstyle during his senior year of high school in 2015.

As one might have expected, fans had a field day with Burrow’s new look.

The reactions to Burrow’s new haircut were mixed, but most of them poked fun at the look.

“The swim team pulling up to school after an absolutely massive sectionals win,” on Twitter user wrote.

Former NFL quarterback Chase Daniel wrote, “Joe…it’s me again. Back with more unsolicited advice: don’t let the haters win. If I can win a high school state championship with the same hair, surely you can win the Super Bowl.”

Nick Karns, host of “The Barking Browns” podcast posted, “1-5 against the Browns will downright change a man.”

Former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown poked fun at Burrow, too: “Home Alone 3: Lost in the Super Bowl.”

Another X user wrote, “Eighth grader who got suspended for skating and smoking cigarettes shows up at school.”

The most commonly made jokes, though, went something like this:

Obviously, the jokes mean that he looks like famous hip-hop artist Eminem.
