Deshaun Watson’s Browns’ Debut Didn’t Go Well

Even though Deshaun Watson is facing a long suspension, the Browns decided to play him during their first pre-season game. He hasn’t played in an NFL game since 2021, and it looks like he needs to get used to it again.

In the three drives that Watson played in, he threw 1/5 for seven yards. His first throw was pretty ugly, too. It was so bad that you really couldn’t tell who he was throwing it to.

Something else that was expected was the number of boos that Watson got. The Jaguars fans were letting him have it, and you can’t really blame them.

Watson is suspended for six games as of right now for his sexual assault and misconduct allegations, but that could change with the NFL appealing the ruling.

Watson did say that he was sorry for the trouble that he has caused on Friday.

“I want to say that I’m truly sorry to all of the women that I have impacted in this situation. The decisions that I made in life that put me in this position I would definitely like to have back,” Watson said. “But I want to continue to move forward and grow and learn and show that I am a true person of character and I am going to keep pushing forward.”

He has also said that he wants to grow as a person because of this situation.

“I know I have a lot to work in, especially on the field to be able to make sure I’m ready to play whenever that time comes whenever I can step back on the field. But also, the biggest thing is I want to continue counseling and I want to make sure that I’m growing as a person, as an individual for my decision making on and off the field. I want to make sure that I’m just evolving in the community as much as possible, and that is for the Cleveland community, that is the NFL community and beyond.”

Most people are probably ready to get this situation over with. It’s been going on for way too long. But, if you are a Browns fan, you should be hoping for Watson to perform better than this when he is actually able to play.
