On Monday morning, Sue Robinson gave her ruling in the Deshaun Watson case. As we obviously know, she gave Watson a six-game suspension. But now, the NFL has decided to appeal the ruling that Judge Robinson gave out.

The NFLPA has been notified of the appeal and they have two days to write a response to it.
The league has said that NFL commissioner Roger Goodell will appoint who will hear the appeal. But, Goodell also has the power to hear the appeal himself.
With Goodell being able to make a decision himself, it’s questioned why the NFL and NFLPA would agree to a judge, just for the league to appeal the decision, which would ultimately give Roger Goodell the power to make the decision. We’ll most likely never know, but it is a strange thing to do.
Either way, the NFL is looking for an indefinite suspension of at least one year.

However, it was reported that the least the league might suspend him would be 12 games and a big fine.
The NFLPA said they were going to be respectful of Robinson’s ruling, and the Cleveland Browns have said that they are going to be respectful of her decision in a press release on Monday.
“We respect Judge Robinson’s decision, and at the same time, empathize and understand that there have been many individuals triggered throughout this process. We know Deshaun is remorseful that this situation has caused much heartache to many and he will continue the work needed to show who he is on and off the field, and we will continue to support him.”
Even though the situation isn’t looking too good, Browns’ coach Kevin Stefanski is still comfortable with Watson as their franchise quarterback even though Robinson gave him a six-game suspension.
“Deshaun has said it: He’s working to be the best version of himself. He’s said that publicly, he’s said that privately, and I believe that.”
Watson will likely be gone longer than six games, so Jacoby Brissett will have to step up for Cleveland.
