The Colorado Buffaloes season has ended but quarterback Shedeur Sanders was unable to play in the season finale against the Utah Utes. However, it was not due to an injury that people knew about beforehand as it was revealed in a vlog by Deion Sanders Jr’s Well Off Media that Shedeur Sanders has a fracture in his back.
Colorado coach Deion Sanders was a bit coy with the injury as he told reporters before the game that Shedeur Sanders was day-to-day.
“Shedeur is not feeling well right now. We are praying that he gets healthy and he’s able to play because he is who he is, and whe nhe’s on the field, we have a tremendous chance to win.”
Shedeur Sanders played extremely well under his circumstances despite being nine sacks away from the most-sacked player in a single season in NCAA history. Being sacked 52 times in the season is something that will need to be addressed with the offensive line as well as making sure he is not holding onto the ball too long.
Sanders finishes his first season with the Colorado Buffaloes going 298-of-430 (69.3 completion percentage) for 3,230 yards with 27 passing touchdowns to three interceptions. He finished within the top 10 in the country in passing yards.
What can Shedeur Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes do differently next season to ensure they make a bowl game?
The Colorado Buffaloes are going to be in an interesting position next season as they are joining the Big 12 Conference. While the schedule is not made and we do not know the order, we do know what teams they are facing and will be listed below:
2024 Colorado Buffaloes home games
- North Dakota State Biston
- Utah Utes
- Bayor Bears
- Oklahoma State Cowboys
- Kansas State Wildcats
- Cincinnati Bearcats
2024 Colorado Buffaloes road games
- Nebraska Cornhuskers
- Colorado State Rams
- Arizona Wildcats
- Kansas Jayhawks
- Texas Tech Red Raiders
- UCF Knights
In order for Shedeur Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes to improve, they need to address the offensive line as they have allowed way too many pressures and sacks throughout the season. Coach Sanders has already discussed that as a need for improvement during the offseason. That would help also create a running game to make the team more effective and take pressure off the defense and Shedeur Sanders.
