A Colorado Buffaloes coach announced his resignation Sunday after the program lost to Utah on Saturday. Deion Sanders’ team has now lost eight of their previous nine games to finish with a 4-8 record on the season.
Sanders now has twice the number of losses as he does wins after year one in Boulder. Sanders tried to make changes during the season to stop the bleeding and get Colorado into a bowl game.
Former Minnesota head coach Tim Brewster was removed from his role of coaching the tight ends to an analyst earlier in November after the Buffaloes loss to Oregon State. But the losses kept coming for Sanders.
A Colorado Buffaloes coach quits on Sanders
According to a statement by Brewster on X Sunday morning, Brewster resigned from his analyst job at Colorado. The statement was more professional to Sanders than what the 4-8 and self-proclaimed ” best” college football coach deserved after failing to make meaningful progress after Brewster’s public demotion:
“I’ve resigned and just want to say Thank You to Prime! Just a truly amazing man and leader!! #BuffNation all and wish staff players much continued success!! God Bless all!!”

Sanders has already announced coaching staff changes for next season. He announced he was hiring Hall of Fame defensive lineman Warren Sapp for the 2024 team. It’s unknown what role Sapp will have for next season.
