Former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick has been linked with the Canadian Football League team, the BC Lions. This news is big for the former quarterback trying to make his way back into the National Football League eventually after writing a letter to the New York Jets recently. This would be a major step forward for the controversial star.
Canada 🇨🇦 you can have him lol 😂

Colin Kaepernick’s Comeback Attempt
Colin Kaepernick has been heavily criticized for trying to come back to the NFL after sharing his thoughts on how he believes the league treats their players poorly, comparing the NFL draft to slavery. He has not been on a team since he became a free agent in 2017, making his potential comeback even more difficult. He recently wrote a letter to the New York Jets trying to join their practice squad but has ultimately been turned down the offer.
The former quarterback recently turned down an offer to play in the XFL after owner Dwayne Johnson personally set up a meeting with him. Johnson offered Kaepernick to come and play in his league, but ultimately failed in his recruiting attempt. The controversial player turned down the offer because the XFL pays much less money to players than the NFL.
CFL Affiliation
Colin Kaepernick has since been added to the negotiation list of the Canadian football team, the B.C. Lions. To be clear, this does not mean he officially has a contract as stated by the B.C. co-general manager Neil McEvoy. He will be on the Lions’ list for a second time after being on it when he was at the University of Nevada. After denying the Lions the first time, Kaepernick was claimed by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats twice and once by the Montreal Alouettes.
The former quarterback was initially selected by the San Francisco 49ers in the second round of the 2011 NFL draft and went on to play for them for six seasons. He threw for 12,271 yards and 72 touchdowns in his time with San Francisco and even brought them to a Super Bowl in 2012.
Colin Kaepernick Criticism
The former quarterback has dealt with criticism for a while now stemming from his kneeling during the American national anthem. The reason he did this was to protest police brutality and racial injustice against the black community. This severely backfired for Kaepernick, though, and was forced to opt out of his contract in 2017, making him a free agent. The former quarterback has not played in any league since this incident.
It is still uncertain how interested the B.C. Lions are in bringing in Kaepernick. The co-general manager McEvoy gave his reason for even adding the former NFL star to his negotiation list saying, “Just a name on a list that is very fluid and changes daily.” Even with these comments from McEvoy, having such a well-known name on your list certainly makes it more likely that they will try to bring Kaepernick on their team.

Good for him. I hope he shuts the haters up.
Idiot comments not welcome
There is nothing “shocking” about it. He won an NFC championship.
This is old news, he turned them down a week or more ago
Why don’t you all just leave him to do whatever he can. Either he can cut it or not but your constant criticism of him can’t be good. Some of you never made it so stop hating and give the man a shot.
I’m more concerned about the websites that are using Colin Kaepernick as a means to solidify racism, promote racist comments, and gaslight racist america. Notice the article is quickly bringing up Twitter negative comments.
Who is this guy, hartman? How old was he when Colin Kaepernick was playing in the first place? 12?
