Colin Kaepernick has been a part of many circulating rumors regarding a potential comeback to professional football. These rumors began when he penned a letter to the New York Jets asking to join their practice squad after Aaron Rodgers went down with a season-ending injury. After these rumors died out, Kaepernick met with XFL owner Dwayne Johnson to discuss potentially playing for the growing league. He ended up turning down that offer, angering football fans. With all of these opportunities that Kaepernick has turned down, it seems unlikely that he will ever play in the NFL again. However, if he were to make a comeback, three teams stand out the most to sign the former quarterback.
1. New England Patriots
The Patriots have gotten off to a horrific 1-5 start to the 2023 season, and a big reason for that is the mediocre quarterback play by Mac Jones. Jones has only amounted to 1,208 passing yards, five touchdowns, and seven interceptions in the first six games of the year. He has struggled all season long and has since been put on a tight leash by head coach Bill Belichick.
With the team having offensive struggles, why not bring in Kaepernick for a little while to see what he can do for them? With the coaching mastermind of Belichick, he could perform much better than anticipated and can bring a new versatile style to the offense.
2. Indianapolis Colts
Rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson is now done for the rest of the year after suffering a torn AC joint, which leaves backup Gardner Minshew as the starter for the time being. If the Colts were to sign Kaepernick, it could serve as a great competition to see who wins the starting job for the rest of the season.
They already have a star running back in Jonathan Taylor, and having Kaepernick aboard can bring a dangerous rushing attack to the Indianapolis offense. While this seems like a decent option, the Colts would have to sign the former quarterback sooner rather than later if they would want to see what he can do, which seems unlikely.
3. Las Vegas Raiders
Starting quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo suffered a gruesome neck injury in the Raiders week six matchup against the New England Patriots, causing him to leave in an ambulance. He is likely to miss some time which leaves a huge question mark at the quarterback position. Backup Brian Hoyer was able to get the job done and pull out the win for Las Vegas. However, he is certainly not a long-term option, and will likely struggle if he plays again as the Raiders face the Chicago Bears and the dominant Detroit Lions in their next two games.
If they were to bring Kaepernick aboard, it may give them a decent shot at winning these games. He has already met with the Raiders President Sandra Douglass Morgan to discuss playing for the team before. You would have to think that this might be the best chance for Kaepernick to make an NFL comeback.
Will Colin Kaepernick Make a Comeback?
Although these scenarios sound intriguing, it is still unlikely that Kaepernick will end up signing with any of these teams. He has had a lot of controversy with the league and has been heavily ridiculed by NFL fans and owners. We will see if any of these rumors start to pick up any steam as the season progresses.

Kraperstink is a worthless crybaby! Any team that signs him will be sorry when they have their biggest LOSING SEASON EVER!
Hopefully he gets a career ending innjury the first game he plays! Let him go cry someplace else! Maybe the girlscouts would be a better fit for him! 🤣
I’m sorry Colin is not going to play in the NFL again. It had been too long. these teams are not going to waste their time on a player especially at QB position who hasn’t played in like over 6 years. If he was really serious he should have went and played in 2 of the other leagues so teams to see him in real game action but he chose not to do that. He still just wants his nsme out there and play the victim card again. Sorry this guy really doesn’t want to play football hevonly wants to play on people’s emotions.
The Colts don’t need the drama. Stop it with the Kaepernick advertising. He messed it up by taking a supposed “cause” on the “job”. He should have leave the ” cause” to his own personal platform as a sports athlete/entertainer. A time and place for everything. Now he’ll cry “racism” for teams not showing interest. And I’m African American…. Not racist. PEACE
Get over the stupid BS. Really? With the million hypocritical topics currently “trending” grow up and accept that Colin is a talented quarterback and deserves to be on the field. Yes,there are several teams to date that could use an enima.
Why do liberal sports writers keep pushing the Kaepernick farce.
No team will ever touch him. He’s a cancer in the locker room .
Plus a high % of NFL fans love America and will never support him again.
Last, he was never a great QB , and now he’s not even a decent backup candidate.
No more politics please.
Just sports .
