New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers is never one to shy away from controversial or tough conversations. Dating back to his time with the Green Bay Packers, especially in his final three seasons, the four-time NFL MVP used his platform as one of the most recognizable players in the sport, to spread his ideals and versions of what he believes to be true.
As many fans are well aware, Rodgers’ views and opinions became common knowledge when he started to do weekly appearances on The Pat McAfee Show. During the 2020 season, his opinion on COVID and vaccines made him a polarizing figure in the worlds of sports and medicine.
Since then, Rodgers has taken on controversial topics such as governmental conspiracies, the existence of extraterrestrial life, and and other non-mainstream beliefs.
New York Jets Quarterback Aaron Rodgers Was Reportedly Considered as Robert F. Kennedy’s Running Mate
Earlier this offseason, Rodgers’ relationship and friendship with independent Presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy became somewhat common knowledge. The two share an affinity for denying the effectiveness of vaccines, as well as questioning why the government, and Dr. Anthony Fauci in particular, recommended people to take them.
For a few days, there were rumblings that Kennedy might even pick Rodgers as his Vice Presidential running mate in the November 2024 election. However, Kennedy chose Nicole Shanahan as his running mate, leading to jokes on social media about Rodgers losing once again to a person with the last name of Shanahan.
It is just as well, though. In the unlikely event that Kennedy would win the election, how would Rodgers fulfill the duties of the Vice President of the United States while also playing quarterback for the Jets?
New York Jets Quarterback Aaron Rodgers Slams President Joe Biden While Praising Vladimir Putin
On Tuesday, polarizing media figure Tucker Carlson released an interview on X (formerly Twitter) that he had with Rodgers. During their discussion, which lasted more than two hours, the pair covered a variety of topics, including Carlson’s controversial interview with Russian president Vladimir Putin.
When asked about his thoughts on the interview, Rodgers said, “I thought, you know, I’d love to hear Joe Biden where he can speak on the history of the United States in the same way that Putin talked about the history of his country.”

The jab at Biden was obvious, with Rodgers insinuating that the President does not have the mental capacity to give an interview in the same way that Putin does.
Earlier this offseason, Rodgers also went on record saying that he did not believe that the person in the White House is actually Joe Biden, but rather a stand in or a robot. During the interview, he frequently referred to Biden as “Weekend at Bernie’s.”
