The Cleveland Browns are looking for a bounce-back season after a subpar 2022. Some of this was due to the volatility in the quarterback room as Deshaun Watson was suspended for the first 11 games of the season. The hope is that with a full offseason working with the team, the Browns can look more cohesive. During one of these offseason workouts, Cleveland Browns wide receiver Michael Woods II tore his Achilles and is likely to miss the whole season.

Cleveland Browns Receiver Michael Woods II
Woods was working out with quarterback Deshaun Watson when the injury happened. The sixth-round pick last year out of Oklahoma was hoping to build some rapport with the quarterback to earn more playing time once the season started. However, Woods is likely to miss the entire 2023 season. An Achilles’ injury usually has a sixth-month recovery time but getting back into football shape and having to be integrated into the offense midseason is a tall task.

Tough Luck For The Young Rookie
This may not seem like a significant injury for the Cleveland Browns. However, the Browns are going to need all the help they can get. The team gave up a lot of draft capital and cap space to sign Watson. This means players like Michael Woods II need to step up and fill in the holes on the roster. While no one expects sixth-round picks to be superstars, the Browns need their late-round picks to be serviceable. This is a blow albeit a small one to a team that is trying to have a better season in 2023.
The Browns are one of the most intriguing teams for 2023. Because of the volatility of last season, we do not know what they are. They are one team that many people will be watching in 2023 to see if they can compete in a tough AFC conference.
