The Houston Texans revealed crushing news for the offense before their important matchup Sunday with the Tennessee Titans. The Texans are coming into Week 15 holding on to the AFC’s eighth seed with a 7-6 record.
A win against the 5-8 Titans would greatly help get the Texans into the playoffs in DeMeco Ryan’s first season as the head coach. However, the task of beating a Titans team fresh off their upset over the Miami Dolphins on Monday Night Football just became a lot harder as of Friday.
The Houston Texans will be without Stroud on Sunday
According to Ian Rapoport with the NFL Network, the Texans revealed C.J. Stroud will not play against the Titans as the rookie quarterback is still in the concussion protocol.
Injury news from today:
— #Commanders RB Brian Robinson (hamstring) is out Sunday vs. the #Rams.
— The #Panthers placed TE Hayden Hurst on injured reserve Friday, ending his season.
— #Texans QB CJ Stroud is not practicing and won't play Sunday.
— #Bucs WR Chris Godwin (knee)…— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) December 15, 2023
Stroud had to leave the Texans’ Week 14 loss to the New York Jets after suffering a head injury. The brain injury is severe enough that the Texans don’t think he has a chance to clear all phases of the protocol by Sunday afternoon.
