The Seattle Seahawks hope both starting offensive tackles can stay healthy after both players missed some time last season due to injuries. Their left tackle missed three games, while their right tackle missed 11. Stone Forsythe filled in at LT, while Jake Curhan, Forsythe (again), and Jason Peters filled in at RT.

The Seattle Seahawks right tackle battled a chronic knee injury
Abraham Lucas started in Week 1 but left the game with a knee injury, later identified as a chronic issue he has dealt with since his time with the Washington State Cougars. The Seahawks placed Lucas on injured reserve and missed the next ten games.
Lucas returned to the field in Week 13 and started the next five games but played on a limited basis. He played 59.4% of snaps in Week 13, 89.8% in Week 14, 100% in Weeks 15 and 16, and 42.9% in Week 17. They held him out of their season finale.
He had his knee fixed this offseason (hopefully).

Lucas underwent surgery in January, hoping he would no longer have an issue with his chronic knee pain. So far, he’s missed offseason workouts, including OTAs and mandatory minicamp, as he recovers from surgery.
Rookies reported to training camp last Wednesday, July 17, while veterans will report on Tuesday, July 23. Lucas isn’t quite ready.

The Seahawks placed Lucas on the active/PUP list, meaning he will count against their 90-man roster and isn’t allowed to practice. If he does practice, the team must activate him to the active roster.
“When a player is placed on the PUP list at the start of training camp, he is put on the active/PUP list. He counts against the team’s 90-man roster and can participate in meetings but is not allowed to practice. If the player practices — even once — during training camp, he must leave the PUP list and be activated to the club’s roster.”
Who filled in at right tackle?
The Seahawks addressed their swing tackle depth this offseason by signing a familiar face, George Fant. Fant spent his first four seasons with the Seahawks, serving as the swing tackle and playing the role of the sixth offensive lineman. He spent time with the Jets for the 2020-2022 season and last season with the Texans.
Fant filled in for Lucas during OTAs and mandatory minicamp in his stead.
