Cincinnati Bengals star receiver Ja’Marr Chase has been dealing with a back injury this week in practice after the game against the Buffalo Bills. Head coach Zac Taylor said that he will be limited in practice this week to not aggravate it further, however, a report has come out that the Bengals star did not participate in practice today.

Ja’Marr Chase Injury
Chase hurt his back in this past week’s game against the Bills when he jumped up for a pass, causing him to land hard on his back. He was slightly shaken up after the play but did not show signs of it being significant. He revealed earlier this week that he was dealing with the injury and that it could jeopardize his availability for this week’s matchup against the Houston Texans.
The star receiver told reporters, “I’m just going to support my teammates. Let those guys do what they got to do. Only thing I can do is get healthy for the team.” From the tone of his voice when giving this answer, it sounds like this injury could be more serious than we think.
Key Component For The Cincinnati Bengals
Chase has been a huge piece of the Bengals’ offense since he joined the team in 2021. In his first two seasons in the NFL, he has amounted to over 1,000 receiving yards and notched 22 touchdowns. So far this season, he has gone for 697 receiving yards and four touchdowns, and if healthy, is on track to eclipse the 1,000-yard mark once again.
If the star receiver is not able to go this week, it will certainly affect the team as they will be playing a Texans team that has been playing surprisingly well this season. We will see how his status for the game turns out as the week progresses close to Sunday.
