The Buffalo Bills are facing a very familiar foe this week in the divisional round, the Kansas City Chiefs. This time however, it will be in Buffalos stadium which has been a rarity in their matchups in the last few years. These teams have gone up against each other 6 times in the last half decade and 5 of those 6 games have been in Arrowhead, and all the playoff games have been in Kansas City.
Finally, the Bills have an opportunity to play the Chiefs in their house, and that highlights that the Chiefs have had their worst year so far in the Patrick Mahomes Era. The worst year of Mahomes is still nothing to scoff at at the Chiefs just won the Super Bowl last year and have one of the best defenses in the league. With all that being said, this is the best opportunity Josh Allen will have to take down their bigger brother in the AFC that they have yet to beat in the post season.
The Bills have had heartbreaking losses to this team in the playoffs so there will be no lack of motivation for this Bills team to get over that hump and finally take down defending Super Bowl champions. However, If they can’t get over that hump now, there’s no reason to think they ever will.
The Buffalo Bills Have Their Best Opportunity This Year
This year the Bills beat the Chiefs in the regular season and there was a very controversial call that took away an incredible play that put the Chiefs ahead with almost no time in the game. Mahomes went across the field to shake hands with Allen at the end of the game and in a very pompous and childish manner, Mahomes complained to Allen about the call.
This should also light a fire under Allen and the Bills bottom as they have yet to get proper revenge against this team that has bounced them in the playoffs twice. This a year that the Chiefs have looked very beatable, and now they have to go on the road in the play-offs for the first time in the Mahomes era. There has never been a better chance to beat them than right now.
Stefon Diggs should also be ready to go as a few years back he stayed on the field when the Bills lost to the Chiefs in the playoffs and watched their whole celebration. There is no lack in motivation for Buffalo and they know they have not gotten a better chance to take Kansas City down since Allen has been with the team. They need to leave it all out on the field and finally take down their AFC foe.
If not now, when?
