The Buffalo Bills just can’t seem to go away. It did not look pretty at all during the season and it did not look pretty last night against the Miami Dolphins, but this team found a way to get the 2 seed after starting 6 and 6. They have won five straight and now find themselves with the 2 seed and going to play the Pittsburgh Steelers at home in their playoff opener.
With 14 minutes left in the game, and the Bills trailing 14-7, they came up with the biggest play of the season. Deonte Harty set the Bills record with a 96 yard punt return touchdown to tie the game, and they never looked back. Usually it is coached to not return the punt from so deep back but Harty was in a different zone and focused. He was quoted after the game saying:
“I didn’t,” he said. “I could hear people saying no. But I was in my zone. … I knew he kind of outkicked his coverage a little bit. I kind of like took a peek, and (there) wasn’t really nobody in front of me for like 10 yards, 15 yards. So, once I seen that, I knew it was go time.”
Buffalo Bills Win AFC East For 4th Consecutive Season
Josh Allen played the way he has played all year, making costly turnovers at times you absolutely cannot make turnovers, and huge plays to win the game. He ended the season with the most combined touchdowns from the position and the most turnovers so it was fitting we would see a bunch of those in the last game of the regular season.
But Josh and this Bills team found a way to beat the Dolphins and they have been finding ways to win for 5 straight weeks. This is not a team anyone wants to face in the playoffs as they have been one of the only teams that has been heating up on their way to the post season. Josh was able to make many huge runs to to take crucial time off the clock in the fourth quarter, picking up many first downs until he was finally stopped.
late in the 4th quarter, quarterback of the Dolphins, Tua Tagovailoa thre a game losing interception to give the Bills the win. This is the main difference between the quarterbacks, that as Josh came up huge in the fourth quarter, Tua could not do anything.
Following the game star wide receiver Stefon Diggs whispered two words in Josh Allen’s ear.
“Four more.”
There were no other words that needed to be said as they are 4 wins away from history, a place no one thought they would get to just five weeks ago.
