Josh Allen Admits It’s a ‘Failed Season’ as QB Hits Buffalo Bills with Ugly Reality of NFL

While the Buffalo Bills made it all the way to the divisional round of the 2023 season, they still didn’t win the top prize. And for Josh Allen, anything less than a Super Bowl trophy is a “failed” campaign.

The Bills star said as much on Sunday after they lost to the Kansas City Chiefs, 27-24. Allen didn’t sugarcoat the loss and didn’t even try to highlight any moral victory for them. At the end of the day, the goal is to win it all, and Buffalo simply fell short.

Allen highlighted that it’s the mentality that he has in every season. Besides, that is the harsh reality of the NFL, and they have to learn to accept it.

“Every season if you don’t win, it’s a failed season. That’s the nature of the business. There’s one happy team at the end of the season, really. And when it’s not you, and you’re so close, it sucks,” Allen shared, via Jori Epstein of Yahoo Sports.

“Losing sucks,” the Buffalo Bills star added.

It’s hard to blame Josh Allen for having that kind of mentality. That is what the sport is about. Everyone wants to win the championship, but there can only be one team to win it every year. Lose and you’re out, needing to wait for another year for a chance at redemption.

Buffalo Bills place kicker Tyler Bass (2) walks off the field after missing what would have been a game tying field goal in a 27-24 loss to the Chiefs in the divisional round.

Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills played an incredible game against the Kansas City Chiefs. It was an intense back-and-forth, with the result not decided until the closing stages.

The Bills actually entered the fourth quarter ahead 24-20. Unfortunately, they were unable to score in the fourth quarter when the Chiefs scored another touchdown to take the 27-24 lead.

Buffalo had a chance to tie the game with less than two minutes remaining when they get into field goal range. Nonetheless, Tyler Bass missed his field goal attempt, and the Bills were just unable to recover after that.

It was definitely an ugly way to end a season after Buffalo topped the AFC East. Hopefully, the latest defeat will serve as a fuel for the Bills to bounce back higher come the 2024 season.
