The Kansas City Chiefs are heading to the AFC Championship Game after defeating the Buffalo Bills and the duo of Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce made NFL history in the game. With the two touchdowns tonight, the two players now have the most touchdowns by a quarterback-receiver duo in the NFL playoffs.
With this game, Mahomes and Kelce have 16 touchdowns in the playoffs, passing Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski. While we do not know how much longer the two players will be playing together as there are reports that Travis Kelce could retire as early as this offseason.
This will be interesting to see if they can step up and continue to add to their record while the Kansas City Chiefs can get more touchdowns out of Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce.
Will Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce record a touchdown in the AFC Championship Game?
A lot of people were worried about what the Chiefs could do offensively as Kelce was experiencing drops in the AFC Wild Card Round against the Miami Dolphins. However, he turned things around in a major way as he recorded five catches on six targets for 75 yards (15.0 yards per reception) and a pair of touchdowns.
Going up against the Baltimore Ravens defense is going to be a tough matchup but Kelce has 33 catches for 465 yards and two touchdowns in five games against them. Mahomes looked outstanding and that he can play well in a road playoff game.
While it is way too early to see how the betting markets are going to assess an anytime touchdown for the duo, do not be surprised to see the Mahomes and MaAuto connection continue next week.
