The Buffalo Bills beat the New York Jets on Sunday but it was the postgame antics that drew the most news. Jets defensive lineman Micahel Clemons followed Bills offensive tackle Dion Dawkins in the tunnel and a small spat ensued. No punches were thrown but a lot of shouting happened and Dawkins took a shot at the Jets in his postgame interview.
Buffalo Bills Dion Dawkins On Tunnel Spat
Dawkins had this to say about the altercation.
“I’m a humble guy. I’m not a fan, man — I’m not a fan of the Jets. Very disrespectful players. It’s what it is, and when we can run and pass and beat a team like that, cool. Thumbs up.”
The end of the game got very chippy with both sides committing some penalties. For the Jets, it is likely a boiling over of frustration over how the season has gone. 2023 started with so much promise and everything has seemingly gone wrong. The Bills also are having a frustrating season and this might’ve been a perfect storm of frustration boiling over.
On The Outside Looking In
Both of these teams are currently on the outside looking in. The Bills are in a much better position especially with the Joe Burrow injury likely taking the Bengals out of the race. For the New York Jets, they need to start winning now. The issue is that Zach Wilson does not seem to be the answer for the offense. Head coach Robert Saleh would not commit to a starter for the Black Friday game against the Miami Dolphins. It is not usually a recipe for success when a team doesn’t know who the starter is in week 12.
The Buffalo Bills and New York Jets are having similar seasons. 2023 started with a lot of promise but everything has gone wrong. Can either of them recover and make the playoffs?
