The San Francisco 49ers ruled out a running back
The San Francisco 49ers had question marks at running back during practice this week. The 49ers had Christian McCaffrey, and Elijah Mitchell listed on their injury report this week. McCaffrey said earlier in the week he’d be able to play against the Philadelphia Eagles Sunday. Mitchell was questionable for the NFC Championship game.
According to a statement by the 49ers, Mitchell will be inactive against the Eagles.

That’s a considerable loss for the 49ers offense that will play with a banged-up running back in McCaffrey. The 49ers elevated running back Tevin Coleman on Saturday. He has some experience playing for the 49ers this season but hasn’t played a game in months.
Per GH Media files:
Coleman has played three games for the San Francisco 49ers. His last game was in Week 6 against the Atlanta Falcons. Coleman has 26 yards rushing and 44 yards receiving this season. He has an overall grade of 68.3 this season, according to Pro Football Focus. Coleman could help fill in for Mitchell and ease the load for a recovering McCaffrey.
Coleman will likely see substantial carries in Philadelphia Sunday. He’ll be expected to put up more than his season total in rushing yards if the 49ers can beat the Eagles and advance to the Super Bowl.
