The San Francisco 49ers elevate two for Sunday

The San Francisco 49ers elevated two before their NFC championship Game Sunday. The 49ers will play the Philadelphia Eagles on the road for the chance to play in the Super Bowl. The 49ers have been battling through injuries to several key players this week. They added some depth at running back Saturday afternoon.

According to Mike Garafolo with the NFL Network, the 49ers promoted Tevin Coleman and cornerback Janoris Jenkins to the active roster. Garafolo’s take is that Coleman would see carries Sunday, with Mitchell listed as questionable on Friday’s injury report.

The #49ers promoted RB Tevin Coleman and CB Janoris Jenkins to the active roster ahead of tomorrow’s NFC Championship Game against the #Eagles. Coleman could see time with Elijah Mitchell (groin) listed as questionable.

McCaffrey, who dealt with a calf injury this week, returned to practice on Friday. He said he would play against the Eagles. Wide receiver Deebo Samuel returned to practice Wednesday.

Coleman has played three games for the San Francisco 49ers. His last game was in Week 6 against the Atlanta Falcons. Coleman has 26 yards rushing and 44 yards receiving this season. He has an overall grade of 68.3 this season, according to Pro Football Focus. Coleman could help fill in for Mitchell and ease the load for a recovering McCaffrey.

Jenkins last played for the 49ers in the Wild Card round against the Seattle Seahawks. He played in 18 snaps and earned a 69.4 overall grade from PFF.
