There has been an important update on the Brock Purdy surgery date. A couple of weeks ago it was released that San Francisco 49ers quarterback, Brock Purdy’s elbow surgery would have to be delayed due to inflammation. Now, it has been reported that the Brock Purdy surgery date will be later this week.

Brock Purdy Surgery Date
It was reported this morning that Purdy will undergo surgery this Wednesday, March 8th. The procedure will be done by Dr. Keith Meister to repair Purdy’s torn UCL. The report was from Mike Silver, who told 49ers Webzone. Purdy sustained his injury on January 29th in the NFC Championship game.
There has been an update to this date. Matt Barrows, who covers the 49ers for the Athletic, tweeted that he heard the date was moved to Friday, March 10th. At the least, sources have heard this week.

The hope is that the surgery will just require a repair and an internal brace. This repair would stick to the same six-month time frame. An alternative would be if the Brock Purdy surgery requires a reconstruction, which would extend the injury. This surgery would keep him out until October at the earliest. Either way, Dr. Kieth Meister will not know until he gets started on the procedure. Hope still remains that it will be an easy repair.

More updates will follow the surgery, but the good news is that a Brock Purdy surgery date has been decided, and will no longer be delayed. The 49ers fortunately have a healthy Trey Lance on the roster that will compete for the starting spot.
