Bill Belichick Likely To Call It A Career
While teams that are the favorite to land Belichick include the Atlanta Falcons, Los Angeles Chargers, Washington Commanders, Tennessee Titans, and Carolina Panthers, the odds in Las Vegas are saying that the greatest odds for the head coach next season is to not be coaching at all. Belichick has been the coach in New England for 24 years, and many fans and analysts have predicted over the years that he would retire as a Patriot. He is now 71 years old, which is one of the oldest head coaches in the entire league, and many think that he is ready to call it a career.
While the odds say that he will not be a coach next season, there are still a good chunk of teams in the NFL that could give Belichick a call during the offseason, one of the most likely candidates being the Chargers. Los Angeles has been a top landing spot for the head coach according to many analysts, but with Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh meeting with the team today, the position may be filled very soon.
Teams Interested In Bringing In Belichick
If Harbaugh does sign with the Chargers, it could increase the likelihood of Belichick calling it a career. While the most likely landing spot according to BetMGM is the Falcons, many fans and analysts alike believe that Atlanta does not have enough pieces on their team to attract Belichick to their organization. The only way that Belichick would highly consider going to Atlanta would be if the team went out and got a star quarterback in free agency. The Falcons have been linked to Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins back during the trade deadline, so it is possible the team would make the move to draw the attention of Belichick.
While there is a lot of uncertainty as to what Belichick’s next move will be, we can only speculate based on what the odds are saying. The long-time head coach has already cemented himself as one of if not the greatest coaches in the history of the sport, so he could very well call it a career and not lose any respect from fans. Do you think Belichick will sign with another team in 2024, or will he ultimately decide to retire from coaching?
