The Los Angeles Chargers entered the draft needing to upgrade their interior defensive line, which has been an issue for the past few seasons.
Gavino Borquez of Chargers Wire explained what the Chargers needed to address regarding the defensive line.
“The Chargers signed Poona Ford, who will be an asset against the pass and run. Morgan Fox returns for the final year of his contract. Otito Ogbonnia will have a fresh start after missing more than half of this last season as he was recovering from a knee injury he sustained in his rookie campaign. This position group could benefit from another player, particularly one who offers pass-rush juice.”
The Chargers drafted an interior defensive lineman in the 4th round.

Lance Zierlein did a scouting report on Justin Eboigbe
Lance Zierlein of NFL Network did a scouting report on Eboigbe.
“Tweener with solid power but below-average snap explosiveness and quickness, which prevents him from making more plays. Eboigbe plays base end and can slide inside when needed, but lacks the anchor and power associated with most Alabama interior defenders.
“He’s more than capable of bullying tight ends as a base end, but will need to move inside as a pass rusher. Eboigbe’s NFL frame and strong pop at contact could create an opportunity for him to compete for a backup role in 4-3 or 3-4 schemes.”
Justin Eboigbe will compete for a roster spot this Summer. Will he make the 53-man roster?
