The New England Patriots executives reportedly have a new concern related to longtime head coach Bill Belichick before the regular season. There have been many rumors and reports about friction brewing between owner Robert Kraft and Belichick this offseason.
During the League Annual Meeting this spring, Kraft commented that Belichick and the Patriots needed to win this season. Kraft wasn’t happy the Patriots missed the playoffs last season.
The Patriots have new worry, and it’s not about anything pertaining to the field.
New England Patriots have a new worry with Bill Belichick
According to Oli Coleman with Page Six, Belichick broke up with his longtime girlfriend Linda Holliday after a tumultuous year. Executives with the Patriots are reportedly afraid Holliday could publish sensitive information on social media–something she had a habit of doing during her relationship with Belichick. Holliday made several posts after Tom Brady went to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers:
“After the Bucs won a championship game, a fan wrote on Instagram, “Too bad Bill let Tom go!” and Holliday shot back, “And you have all the answers evidently? Tom didn’t score last night…not once! Defense won that game. Were you even watching?”
Now we’re told the team bigs are nervously wondering what Holliday might choose to muse about online next, now they’ve split.”
The breakup news comes at a tough point on the calendar for Belichick. The Patriots will play the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 1 on Sunday. Belichick needs to focus on winning this season, or he could be out of a job in New England.
