Bengals Get Devastating News For Offense Before Divisional Round Against Bills

The Bengals lose a crucial piece before the divisional round

The Cincinnati Bengals are set to play in the divisional round against the Buffalo Bills after narrowly hanging Sunday. The Bengals survived in a tight fourth quarter that saw defensive end Sam Hubbard take a 98-yard fumble return during a potentially game-winning drive by the Ravens. But the win over the Ravens was costly for one key member of the Bengals’ offense.

According to Ian Rapoport with the NFL Network, Bengals head coach Zac Taylor said Monday that left tackle Jonah Williams is week to week with an injury. Williams sustained what Rapoport reportedly believes is a dislocated kneecap Sunday night.

Coach Zac Taylor calls it "week to week," which is an indication Jonah Williams would have a shot if the #Bengals keep advancing. https://t.co/SLgHrK6Vqt

That was a similar injury to the one Williams sustained against the Ravens in Week 5, and he played the following week. However, because of the proximity of this incident to the Week 5 injury, he could be sidelined for a couple of weeks.

This would be a significant blow to the Bengals’ offense in the divisional round. Losing quarterback Joe Burrow’s blind site blocker against the Buffalo Bills defense is not something the Bengals coaching staff wanted to see Monday morning.

Offensive tackle Jackson Carman is listed on Our Lads as the Williams’ backup. The 2021 second-round pick has played just four snaps this season. He was graded 56.3 overall by Pro Football Focus for his rookie campaign in 2021, when he gave up no sacks but four hits and 13 pressures in 277 passing snaps.
