Coming off their 16th straight win against the Miami (OH) Redhawks, the Cincinnati Bearcats (2-1) face a tough challenge as the Indiana Hoosiers (3-0) come to Nippert Stadium. The Bearcats will be in for a challenge as they look to make it back to back wins against the Hoosiers after beating them last season.
Although the Bearcats beat Miami (OH) 38-17 thanks to a big time offensive showing, points will be hard to come by since Indiana has only allowed 24 points a game so far through three weeks. Cincinnati looks up to the challenge with their potent offense. Against the Redhawks quarterback Ben Bryant threw for 337 yards and two touchdowns. Following the big game from Bryant was Charles McClelland who had 101 yards on the ground and two rushing touchdowns.
Defense Steps Up:
Just like the other games this season the defense carried the Bearcats against the Redhawks by racking up four sacks and an interception while only allowing 17 points. Look for all of the defensive units to play a big part in this game for the Bearcats. Winning the turnover battle and limiting big plays will be key for Cincinnati to pick up the win.
Game Outlook:
Last season in this matchup the Bearcats walked out of Bloomington with a 38-24 win, but that featured Desmond Ridder and others on one of the best Bearcats teams in school history. This year is a bit different with a nearly full new team, the Bearcats will have their work cut out for them as they face one of their toughest challenges this year from the Hoosiers to wrap up non conference play.
Game Prediction:
Following my correct predictions for Bearcats victories in weeks two and three, I am once again predicting a Bearcats win in front of the home crowd at Nippert Stadium. This week I think it will be a tough challenge from the Hoosiers but the Bearcats will squeak out a 30-24 win in front of the home fans.
