The Cincinnati Bearcats look to bounce back at Nippert Stadium against the Kennesaw State Owls. After a heartbreaking loss against Arkansas last week on the road, the Bearcats return to the safety of Nippert Stadium and their exstatic fanbase. Cincinnati has a 27 game winning streak at home, good enough for second longest in the country so it is no surprise the Bearcats are favored to win this game by 28 points according to WynnBET.
Coming off the loss to the Razorbacks, the Bearcats showed fight and determination up until the final whistle against a good SEC school and in a hostile environment. Cincinnati should be able to pick up a comfortable win in the first meeting between the two schools on the field.
Just like the Bearcats, the Owls are also looking for their first win of the season after going on the road and falling to Samford 27 – 17. The only thing stopping them would be the Bearcats who are poised to put on a show for the home fans and leave no doubt they are still a contender in both their conference and in the national spotlight.
Keys to Bouncing Back:
In order to do that the Bearcats will look to multiple facets of the team. Firstly led by, quarterback Ben Bryant, who last week started out slow but showed why the starting job was given to him by finishing 26-43 with 325 yards, two touchdowns and one interception to keep the Bearcats in a tight game with the Razorbacks.
Secondly, the Bearcats will look for their defense to keep the Owls out of the endzone and possibly off the scoreboard entirely. Even with the loss of top players the defense still showed they are an elite unit and can carry the team by forcing a turnover against Arkansas and getting to the quarterback for two sacks.
Game Outlook:
If all goes well for the Bearcats they will be able to leave their home stadium with a big time confidence boost and a huge win to get back on track. Look for the offense to put up a large amount of yards and points against an FCS school that should not be able to keep up with the Bearcats.
On top of the offense look for this game to be a chance for Cincinnati to work on their kicking game which has been abysmal the past few seasons with numerous missed field goals and extra points. It should provide a chance for the kicker to get back on track or see if a replacement is needed for the Bearcats.
Game prediction:
My prediction for this week is that the Bearcats will score early and often cruising to a big win at home over the Owls to a tune of 52-7. All facets of the Bearcats team will be on display and put on a show in front of the home crowd.
