The Miami Dolphins’ elite pass rush crumbled near the end of the season because of season-ending injuries to their edge rushers.
Jaelan Phillips tore his Achilles in Week 12, Andrew Van Ginkel suffered a foot injury in Week 18, Cameron Goode tore his patellar tendon in Week 18, and their 2x Pro Bowler seriously injured his knee in Week 17.

Bradley Chubb suffered a torn ACL during garbage time of their Week 17 blowout loss to the Baltimore Ravens.
Chubb is four months removed from an injury that typically takes nine to 12 months to recover.
He recently gave an encouraging injury update.
Bradley Chubb gave an encouraging injury update
Chubb recently sat down with the F-1 Williams Racing Team Torque podcast and gave a promising injury update.
“Yeah, it’s going good, man,” Chubb said. “As good as it can be for this point. You know, I mean, I feel like ACL recovery is just so long and strenuous, but I’ve been having a positive attitude throughout it all and just understanding that seeing that light at the end of the tunnel and working toward that, and not really thinking about what it could be or what it is and just taking it day by day. Folks know how I can make today the best day possible and it’s been working out for me, so I can’t complain.”
Because he tore his ACL late in the season, it would be wise for the Dolphins to allow him to fully heal before he’s rushed, even if he misses the first few months of the season. Recent roster moves suggest that’s the approach they’re taking.
The Miami Dolphins signed a Pro Bowl pass rusher
The Dolphins signed Shaq Barrett to a one-year contract worth up to $9 million.
Barrett will be in his eleventh year and has 400 tackles, 73 TFLs, 125 QB hits, and 59 sacks in his career. He is more than capable of filling in for Chubb.
They also drafted two EDGE rushers.

The Dolphins drafted Chop Robinson in the 1st round, 21st overall, and Mohamed Kamara in the 5th round, 158th overall of the 2024 NFL Draft.
Conclusion
To conclude, Bradley Chubb is four months removed from tearing his ACL in Week 17. He is doing fine but faces a long road to recovery and could miss the first two months. Thankfully, the Miami Dolphins have a backup plan by signing a veteran pass rusher and drafting two.
