The Baltimore Ravens are reviewing wide receivers
The Baltimore Ravens are taking a look at offense players ahead of the 2023 NFL Draft. The Ravens must look at quarterbacks due to their volatile situation with Lamar Jackson. The Ravens are also considering upgrading their wide receivers for whoever is under center next season. The Ravens brass recently broke down the playoff of a few wide receiver prospects in this year’s draft.
According to the Ravens website, Ravens director of player personnel Joe Hortiz and head coach Jon Harbaugh critiqued Zay Flowers’ style of play. They said he plays differently than his frame would indicate:
“Zay, he plays inside and out for B.C., and you see the same ability coming up to this level,” Hortiz said. “He’s strong, even though he’s not big, and certainly, he can fly. He can put pressure on a defense quickly. And he’s got outstanding hands and [trackability], so he plays bigger than his size overall, I’d say.”
Harbaugh said Flowers plays bigger than his size suggests.
“Zay may be kind of short, but he’s not small. He’s not a little guy, plus he can accelerate,” Harbaugh said.
We’ll see if the Ravens take a chance on getting the speedy wide receiver for Jackson or another quarterback in late April.
