The Baltimore Ravens cleared some cp space
The Baltimore Ravens needed to clear some cap space ahead of the 2023 season. A Ravens’ defensive payer agreed to take a pay cut so the team could add some wiggle room ahead of free agency next week. The Ravens, who recently applied the franchise tag to quarterback Lamar Jackson, will need to add some pieces, so Jackson has a better chance of striking a payday next offseason.
According to Tim Pelissero with the NFL Network, Ravens nose tackle Michael Pierce took a $2 million pay cut this week. Pierce’s contract restructuring will clear $2.668 million for the Ravens. Pierce will have a chance to earn back the pay cut in incentives.
#Ravens NT Michael Pierce took a $2 million pay cut as part of a contract restructure that cleared $2.668M. He can earn back the difference in incentives.
Same for #Vikings DT Ross Blacklock, who took a roughly $683K cut and can earn it back through a playtime incentive.

The Ravens’ cap space doesn’t look great with the NFL free agency period less than a week away. According to Over The Cap, the Ravens are over $8 million in the red. The team must make a few more cuts or restructures in the next few days.
