Injuries have been a major issue for Baltimore Ravens superstar quarterback Lamar Jackson. Last year, the former NFL MVP saw his campaign come to an end following a season-ending knee injury.
At this point, it is clear that Jackson is looking to make up for lost time.
Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson: ‘I’m Back’
Lamar Jackson has now declared himself fully healthy ahead of Balitmore’s season opener against the Houston Texans on Sunday. In fact, the 26-year-old has sent a bit of a warning to the rest of the NFL about what he’s hoping will be revenge szn:
“I’m back. I feel like I’m better. A hundred percent. So I’m ready to show it,” Jackson said Wednesday, via video from the team (h/t Charean Williams of PFT).
Amid all the Patrick Mahomeses and the Josh Allens in the NFL, it’s almost easy to put Jackson on the back-burner. Well, the All-Pro quarterback is well aware of all this, and he’s set to prove this coming season that he still remains one of, if not the top QB in the league today.
John Harbaugh Sounds Off on Lamar Jackson’s Offseason
Baltimore head coach John Harbaugh is all in on the Lamar hype train. Speaking to reporters ahead of his team’s Week 1 matchup, the veteran shot-caller had nothing but high praise for all the hard work Jackson has put in throughout the offseason:
“Lamar’s his own man,” Harbaugh said. “Lamar is a confident guy, and he’s confident because he’s another guy that works so hard at it. I mean, Lamar has put everything into it. He’s been out here. He’s been studying day and night. He’s been working on all his fundamentals. And he’s ready to go. Like we said last week, he’s ready to be on point with everything he does. I think [offensive coordinator Todd Monken] and he, they get along great. They’ve got to be like that. They are like that. They talk a lot, and we’ll see what happens. It’s not just one game either. We’re talking about a whole season in front of us.”
It goes without saying that Baltimore’s level of success will rely heavily on how well Lamar Jackson plays this year. Ravens fans should be hyped by all this preseason talk. In a few days’ time, we shall all find out if the former Offensive Player of the Year will be able to walk the walk.
