The Baltimore Ravens clinched their spot in the postseason on Sunday with an impressive 23-7 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. The victory came at quite a price, though, with the Ravens losing rookie running back Mitchell Keaton to what has now been confirmed as a season-ending injury.
Baltimore Ravens’ Mitchell Keaton Suffers Horrific Injury
Keaton was forced to exit the game at the mid-way point of the fourth quarter after suffering a shocking knee injury. This is not for the faint of heart:

That’s brutal.
Unsurprisingly, Ravens head coach John Harbaugh confirmed the worst after the game. The Baltimore shot-caller revealed that it was indeed a season-ending injury for the young running back, who will likely need to undergo surgery on his knee.
“It’s heartbreaking,” Harbaugh said, via Myles Simmons of PFT. “He’s just got a great attitude and demeanor about him. He’s a guy you want to see do well. He deserves to do well. And just feel for his parents right now — they’re watching and I’m sure they’re feeling it, too.”
Next Man Up
As tragic as this situation might be, the Ravens have no other choice but to move on from Mitchell as soon as possible, especially with the playoffs fast approaching.
The next man up for Baltimore is veteran RB Melvin Gordon, who the Ravens intend to activate from their practice squad:
“He’s been working super hard,” Harbaugh said. “He’s in great shape and he’ll be ready to go.”
Gordon now gets a shot to breathe some much-needed life into his dwindling career.
